Yesterday I finished delivering 3 days of rescue training for staff at Go Ape Trent Park. I had a great time working with the team, despite the wet weather! Here is a video of me 'monkeying' around on the zip wire before heading home.
After the high winds and poor avalanche forecasts last week I came back to Scotland with The Tempest Two to do some climbing and consolidate for my MIC. The weather today was amazing in the Cairngorms with wall to wall sunshine, light winds and really good consolidated ice throughout... Excited for tomorrow :)
Had a really good day at Big Rock climbing centre today running a Mountain Training CWAA (Climbing Wall Abseil Award) assessment. If you would like to become a climbing instructor or still need to complete a CWA or CWAA assessment, please contact us for details and prices.
We ran the beautiful trails of Coed y Brenin on Saturday, it was a very cold race with lots of mud and even snow but we had a fantastic time. After warming up with a cup of tea in our finishers' mug it was time to head over to Plas y Brenin for the Association of Mountaineering Instructors AGM on the Saturday night and a workshop by Rab and Lowe Alpine on the Sunday.
After a very long drive from Roybridge to Aviemore and
because of the amount of overnight snow myself and Ollie opted for a walk round Corrie An T-Sneachda and the Fiacail ridge today. conditions underfoot were a mixture of compressed snow and breakable crust but not too bad. The wind was pretty strong at times though :) The biggest issue today was avoiding crashing the car on the A86 (be careful out there). Thanks Axonsounds (Ollie) for the video.

Had the most beautiful skies today but some very strong winds on the East Ridge of Beinn A' Chaorainn. An amazing mountaineering grade II in some great surroundings. Although it was still unconsolodated powder, it was good climbing.
